Open Travel Zone represents a new level of online travel community whose goal is to deliver a trusted place to search, research, talk about and network about travel. Open Travel Zone believes the way to accomplish this goal is by bringing together travel professionals and consumers with profiles for full disclosure to create, identify and context for the information provided and discussed. Knowing who and why something is said is as important as what is being said; and gives much more relevance and understanding to the information being provided. Open Travel Zone is a managed social media community and netowrk; managed by travel professionals to give consumers a trusted source of travel information and a place to talk about travel and network with travel professionals and other consumers.
Open Travel Zone is the travel industry's first and only portal designed to collect, aggregate and disseminate rich, interactive and social travel content by experts, DMOs and travelers.
We have different Levels of Membership:
- Guest: Open Travel Zone is open to anyone to visit and view information, even network with Subscribers and Authorized Content Providers. Guests do not get full access to the tools and other features and Open Travel Zone including the ability to post or comment on information without becoming a Member.
- Members: Join Open Travel Zone to become a member by completing a profile, giving you full access to Open Travel Zone content and all of its benefits and tools. Members are allowed to post their own travel information, tips and experiences, and to comment on and rate information provided by others.
- Authorized Content Providers: In order to highlight expert content, special access and publishing tools are granted to travel agents, professional travel writers and others who have demonstrated a true understanding and knowledge about travel and/or specific travel destinations, types of travel or activities
- Subscribers: Subscribers include Destination Marketing Organizations such as Tourism Bureaus, Convention and Visitor Bureaus and Chambers of Commerce. Subscribers are the key sponsors of Open Travel Zone and through their subscription are demonstrating their support of Open Travel Zone and its mission to create and manage a trusted place for the dissemination and collection of rich, interactive and expert travel information, and networking around that content.
